Long Beach Swap Meet
Yesterday we went to the LB swap meet. It was the most crowded we've ever seen it....tons and tons of people and therefore, not as much fun as usual. It was difficult to see everything and to get pics, but I got a few. The weather was just right. It was in the low 60s for most of the day with intermittent cloud cover which kept it from getting too hot. Just perfect for a stroll throught the swap meet.
We did find a treasure. I won't share it just yet because I'm not quite sure what we have or what we'll do with it. But, it was exciting!!

A sign of the times...
We took one of our Sunday drives yesterday and ended up at the water, as we very often do. This time however, it was sad. This area has basically been deserted and the buildings, while full of furniture, are being left to the elements. It's beautiful in a rustic sort of way, but it's sad because this corner developement could be so much more.

We've got a Hummingbird nest...
It seems way too early in the season for this. Especially since there is no protection and/or camoflage provided by this leafless tree. But upon further investigation, I discovered that leaves don't only provide camoflage. They also provide shade from the hot sun and high temps. Since we're not having high temperatures right now I suppose this is OK, but I'm still worried about predators (in the form of Ravens) being able to find this nest. This is the third year this nest has been rebuilt and reused. I'm so glad because it's fun to watch the babies grow and leave the nest on their own.
