It seems way too early in the season for this. Especially since there is no protection and/or camoflage provided by this leafless tree. But upon further investigation, I discovered that leaves don't only provide camoflage. They also provide shade from the hot sun and high temps. Since we're not having high temperatures right now I suppose this is OK, but I'm still worried about predators (in the form of Ravens) being able to find this nest. This is the third year this nest has been rebuilt and reused. I'm so glad because it's fun to watch the babies grow and leave the nest on their own.

I have never seen a humming bird nest before! I am so glad that I came to visit today!
I'm wondering where you live that a hummingbird is nesting at this time of year. Amazing that the nest is where you can see it - for three years! Wonderful!
